"With a Little Help from My Friends..."

What should I write?
Love and kisses form Carol?
I was reading an article by that wonderful Talli Roland in my new RNA (Romantic Novelists' Association Magazine- yep, they've let little ol' me join them and I am really proud to be part of their organisation) about how authors should sign each email with a personal signature and a 'tag-line'. This should be three words that describe their writing and a sentence that includes them. In effect I should be developing my brand.
I have seen my fellow loveahappyending authors doing just that. They seem so professional. They sign  their name, add links to websites and so on and below their signature have a great summary of their style of writing at the end of each email.
Linn B Halton has Life, love and beyond ... but it's ALWAYS about the romance!. I love that. I covert Janice Horton's even more. Janice Horton has put Scottish Fiction with Humour & Heart.
Well, I may be able to write amusing books and articles but I am completely stumped with what to put as a brand and something positive about my writing.
I mentioned it to Hubby and he said I should put 'Expensive to run' after my signature or 'Eats too many Midget Gems' but I don't think he got what it was all about.
So, I have come up with these ideas but I really, really need some better (that shouldn't be too difficult looking at these suggestions) ideas from you, the people who read my stuff. What should I put to impress people when they get an email form me that makes me sound professional and yet conveys what I write about so they desperately want to buy my books?
Here goes, no guffawing at my pathetic efforts please:
'Giggles Galore and so much more'
'You're never far away from the next laugh'
'Self-discovery and laughter'
'Wit charm and a coterie of sagely life-affirming lessons'
Okay, I give up! Help!

  2. Can my Hubby come and live with yours Kit? He is doing my head in today with his daft comments and his silly grin. He has even started calling me "Podge" too...very annoying.
Thank you for your vote. I don't feel now that I am such a numpty at this.

Great idea Sheryl. I'll go on a hunt through my reviews. Thank you. I wish Jonty had done a review of Surfing for me!

    1. I was blown away by your email signature Suzy - all those book covers and so on. It looks very professional already but if I have inspired you to add to it then good stuff. It's all about sharing.
Many thanks for your valued opinion. 'Giggles Galore...' is starting to be a front runner :)

  6. No chance, Carol. One grumpy who likes making daft comments is enough, thank you. I won't tell you what author name he came up with for me when I got my agent!

  10. Dearest Carol,

That is always the HARD part! Self-discovery and laughter with someone daring to dodge the era of pretenders!
    Hugs to you,

    1. Wow Mariette! That's a detailed one. I fancy the 'daring to dodge' part. I now have visions of myself in a cape with 'laugh or I'll squirt you with a pretend flower' written on it.

      many thanks indeed. xx

  11. Oh this is difficult! I like giggles galore too. Concise, and it does what it says on the tin.. hmm, now what can I have? it's a really good idea, but not easy. Think I need to go and soak my brain in a bucket of water. (again) xx thanks for the idea's and inspiration, Debbie.

Deb you are great. I'll have to find something suitable for you and Eileen-hope I am better at ideas for other people. x

  13. Oh, I just love hubby's suggestions! He is a card, isn't he?! (or should that be cad?!)Oh, I'm definitely with the "giggles galore and so much more" one. Pity we can't get the words wine, mynx and eeek in there somewhere though! Hugs from deepest Devon x

    1. Cad! Ha! I am now puzzling as to how I can make a sentence using those relevant words without sounding like am sozzled. I could make that my alternative signature tag-line. Mynxy behaviour, wine and eeks!' Will that work?
Thank you for the hugs. Hubby blushed at his. xx

  17. Seems like you'd be on to a sure thing with Giggles Galore and So Much More. although Facing 50 with Humor is also good, you'd have to change it every decade.

If I was a writer and needed a tagline, I'd have "Come Drifting With Me", because it would tie in with my blog and laid back lifestyle.

    1. Hi River!
Good idea. I'll change my tag on a decade basis. Mind you, I might start writing in another genre and that would decide it for me.
Your tag-line is superb. Add it to your signature anyway for your blog and put your blog details under the tag-line. Looks very professional. x

  18. I like giggles galore too, but I think facing 50 with humor is also very good. See, now you have too many to choose from...:)

    1. I can't cope with too much choice! It's bad enough trying to work out which ready-made meal to pull out for Hubby's dinner each day :)
      Thanks Alessandra. x

  19. Giggles galore is perfect! It's so YOU! You look at the mundane things in life and only see the humour/humor. A tag line is sooooo important and you've reminded me it's time to update my electronic signatures - life moves fast when you are a writer!

  20. HUGE THANKS TO YOU ALL. YOUR INPUT HAS BEEN INVALUABLE AND I HAVE DECIDED TO GO WITH THE MAJORITY VOTE AND ADD 'GIGGLES GALORE AND SO MUCH MORE' O MY SIGNATURE.
NOW WHO'S UP FOR HELPING ME DECIDE WHICH SHOES TO WEAR TO GO OUT TODAY?

  21. Great decision, Carol!
Hmmm shoes... you can never go wrong with shoes covered in sequins or glitter! (who cares that it's not New Year's Eve yet!!) xx

    1. Glitter and sequins! Will you go shopping with me please? Hubby prefers flat and brogue like. I need a girlfriend to go shopping with.

  22. It's an excellent idea having a tag line for your correspondence but as I'm a newbie to this blog I wouldn't presume to select the best for you. Having said that I rather like your second one.

    1. Newbie or not, Rosalind your comment is valued. Hubby dislikes 'Giggles galore' and says it makes me sound silly (Yes, and.....?)
I shall have to rethink so maybe the second one is worth tweaking.

  23. It's a good decision Carol! Although, I was with Ali that 'Facing 50 with Humour' was just about perfect for you!

Thanks for mentioning mine 'Scottish Fiction with Humour and Heart' - which I also had to have a full blown blog debate to find and it was the lovely Linn B Halton who came up with it - so I can't take the credit!!

  25. I have so much to learn about this. But I agree with the others...Facing 50 with humour is what you are now known for. Use it! The only thing I wonder is how long you can keep on using it, though. You look amazing, but I suppose in thirty years time, the Facing 50 bit might not quite hack it ....but the humour will still be there, I'm sure :)
